KE Startup Award 1

The Challenge:

Khmer Enterprise selected MangoTango to implement the “Khmer Enterprise Startup Awards 2021”. This was a 5-month long contest, including recruiting, selecting, mentoring, coaching, and pitching, with the objectives to inspire the spirit of entrepreneurship, promote entrepreneurial culture, and improve networking among startup players in Cambodia.

The Process:

We started with outreach to recruit startups to enter the contest. Thirty-six potential candidates were selected. The shortlisted startups were chosen from four different categories: General Startup Entrepreneur, Women Entrepreneur, Social Entrepreneur, and Innovative Entrepreneur. They were given 6 weeks of mentorship in an online and hybrid format. We invited professional mentors and judges to share their knowledge with the startups. They then competed in the semi-final pitching.

For the exposure of this event, we posted on social media, email blasts, through direct calls, Facebook messenger and more.

The Outcome:

We hosted the Khmer Enterprise Startup Awards Program, which consisted of 3 rounds of pitching from the 36 selected startups. In the final pitching round, three winners were selected. 

The Result:

On the KE Gala Night, the three selected startups were awarded a trophy, certificate, gifts, flowers and 1,200 USD worth of marketing support by MangoTango. They received extensive exposure and support to encourage their startup journey.
